Sweet Europe
Terwijl Nicholas Sarkozy zijn hoogdagen beleeft als voorzitter van de Europese Unie maakt Tsjechië zich klaar om vanaf 1 januari de voorzittershamer over te nemen. Omdat sommige oudere leden van de EU schrik hadden dat de nieuwe staten de macht zouden grijpen werd beslist om ze binnen het rotatiesysteem te integreren.
Praag maakt van de gelegenheid gebruik om alles een Europese touch te geven. Een promotiefilmpje met bekende landgenoten moet de inwoners niet alleen warm maken voor de EU, maar moet ook de zittende coalitie een duwtje in de rug geven. In Europese middens is het ondertussen bijna een wet dat de eerste minister zelden de verkiezingen wint na een voorzittersperiode.
Na Frankrijk geeft ook Tsjechië wat meer pump-and-circumstances aan het voorzitterschap. Benieuwd wat België volgende keer zal doen. Dit soort filmpjes mag alvast vaker op TV verschijnen.
